About the role…
We are seeking a self-motivated and talented Social Media Executive with a strong background in videography, photography, and content creation. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the creative aspects of projects, with a particular focus on visual storytelling and content production. You will work with the Team Lead and Social Media Team in creating video-related content and photography work. This means helping to improve the quality of the content, mentor interns and increase the following of the brand.
Your strong ideation abilities will play a pivotal role in developing and executing creative strategies that captivate audiences and enhance brand presence.
What you will do:
Primary duties
- Be responsible for the overall creative direction of Zula’s social platforms of Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and Zula’s website
- Create and execute engaging videography and photography content for Zula’s media platforms
- Ideate, propose and develop fresh, creative content ideas and segments that are on-brand and have viral potential
- Take on videography, photography and editing duties to produce social media content for both organic and client work.
- Continuously improve Zula’s social media branding and visuals to be appealing and consistent for our audience
- Handle client and organic campaigns from start to end, working closely with project managers and content strategists
Secondary duties
- Assist with photography for editorial content, YouTube video shoots, talenting and hosting where required
- Conduct research and curate factual, relevant information that supports the content creation process
- To train and supervise junior staff such as interns under your care so they improve their skills. This includes managing, motivating them and caring for their well-being.
- To assist with quality control of work produced by your junior to ensure quality of media produced is consistent with the company’s standards.
The successful candidate should have:
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience with a strong portfolio
- Well-versed in both videography and photography (from pre to post-production)
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Software (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop)
- Well versed with TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
- Good understanding of digital content and the social media landscape and content
- Creative thinker who keeps abreast of trending topics and able to translate that into video/photo content ideas
- Good command of English
- Efficient and able to juggle several projects at once with tight deadlines
- Self-starter and able to pick things up quickly and independently
- Highly adaptable to a work environment that is fast-paced and constantly changing
- Knowledge of SEO will be an added advantage
